On 9th May 2005 the Russian Cultural Centre produced the first Victory Day Gala at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Allied Victory. What was meant to be a low key but poignant affair (Scottish veterans were invited personally by post) became a rousing evening of music and dance, which resulted in a fully-booked performance, which is now an established annual event.
In 2009 we collaborated with the Olympic Reserve School of Gymnastics from Rostov on Don) KOSHKA, and soloists from the RSAMD, and incorporated an exhibition by renowned Russian artist/photographer Shamil Karimov, presenting work that examined Russian battlefields “then and now”. The event was once again held at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
The Russian Cultural Centre is a Registered Charity SCN 028887
